My background: Born and raised in the tiny town of Zachary, Louisiana on Wilderness Plantation. My mother is from East Texas (Richwood/Lake Jackson, for those familiar with the area) and has a portion of Cherokee blood she passed on to me, though you wouldn't know from looking. My dad's side were the first settlers in Zachary, so...yeah.

Occupation: housewife (woot!) Former accounting/personal assistant @ Ferris Engineering & Surveying

Religion: Agnostic - I was raised VERY strict Presbyterian, and even went to a Presbyterian boarding school for a while but finally broke free of the chains of religion. I didn't enjoy having it forced down my throat; neither did my sister. For this reason, we became and have stayed Agnostic.

Politics: I like my guns. And my rights. Touch 'em, and we have a problem. Leave 'em be and we're cool. ^_^

Nickname Origin: It came from a line in the series Samurai Deeper Kyo, in which Benitora said "Oh, sweet Yuya!" (youtu.be/v7zhZZ0y-10 skip to 2:08)  I started using it as my account name back when I played EQ and it stuck. Now that's pretty much all I go by. That, or Yuya Shiina. Same difference. You're not getting my real name unless we're on reaaaal good terms.

Birth Signs: Leo & Dog - Hardwired for loyalty. Whether I like it or not. Also happened to marry a Leo, who was born a 364 days after me. And is also a triplet. Lucky Leo's FTW!

Oh noes! It seems I was tagged. I'm not really a fan of tags and whatnot, but on extremely rare occasion I'll come across one that interests me enough to do it. That would be the case here. And, since I'm lazy and it's sort of related, I'm tacking it onto my old "About Me" page. There's no time limit on this. People rarely come to this old journal, so if you're actually here and reading, feel free to ask anything you'd like.

There were rules and such for it, but bugger the rules. My dear friend, shinkamalei, requested 10 facts about me, but I can't come up with anything decent or something you wouldn't get from a cursory glance at my page/gallery. So this is where you get to help.

Ask me anything. Give me some questions to answer. Might as well be stuff you actually want to know, right? I'll pick out 10 and fill in the answers below. Now, fire away!

1. For shinkamalei - My favorite food is a Persian dish called tahdig. And while I -can- make it, it doesn't turn out nearly so well as when my brother-in-law makes it. (He's actually Persian, so it makes sense. He's the reason I'm hooked to begin with!)

2. For Jenneke88 - The most disgusting thing I ever had to do, was help clean out one extremely infected wound on one of the horses at my boarding school. That, and clean cat barf every few days. Because Kibi can't just barf once in a while, or even once each go. I think it scares her, so she barfs, then runs a few feet, barfs again, runs a few more. If I see one pile, I always look for two more. oTZ For one with such a hair-trigger gag reflex, it's not easy. (I try to push it off on Supercop as often as I can!)

I am not an artist! Seriously. No one ever seems to notice that, despite all signs that say otherwise. -sigh- I CANNOT DRAW!!! But I can and do pay people to draw for me. I own every last piece posted in my gallery. (and quite a few you'll never see! MWAHAHA)

If I'm caught up (or catching up) with messages on this site, it just means I'm totally behind/ignoring messages everywhere else!

I've been happily married to my soulmate for over five years.

I actually met my husband while playing an MMORPG, EverQuest, in 2002. He uh..."saved" my ranger from getting owned by goblins in High Keep. Srsly. (I wasn't going to make it to Ran Flamespinner LAWL.) I said something about being a "Lucky Leo" and that caught his attention...him being a Leo as well.

Despite being an internet junkie, an anime fan and an on-again off-again WoW player, I don't look the least bit like a nerd. It often surprises people who meet me when they discover my tastes. (I look like such a wholesome little house-wife. -snorts-)

I'm an avid reader, writer and lover of the arts. I'm quite literally addicted to art/music/writing/reading.

I only have one one blood sibling, my sister DCActress1, but quite a number of "adopted" brothers and sisters. (we adopted each other)

A love of arts runs in my family! My sister is a successful actress, working for the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company in Maryland., and there are artists/musicians galore on my dad's side. ^^ On my mom's side.... Cooking and cowgirls, I guess?

While I hope to one day become an author of a -real- book, I am currently working on improving my own skills. If you have any suggestions or critiques to offer on any of my stories, I welcome them. So far, I think I'm steadily becoming more adept at writing. There is always room for improvement.

I was a TERRIBLE writer when I first started. The early chapters of Color of Trust are like an artist's equivalent to stick-figures, IMO. And Suiren's Mary-Sueness! Oh god... It's humiliating.

I used to draw, but rarely liked my pictures. It pissed me off more than entertained me, so I quit. _{I'm a quitter. Derp.} (There are some of my old works in scraps)

There is always possibility that I'm mildly retarded. At least, I certainly feel like there is.

My mom last night, but she was busy so I talked to my dad. ^^

My dad. It's a Saturday so he just assumed mom and I were out shopping like usual, so he called my cell trying to get her.

Text only because I hate talking on the phone. I can't text very quickly though. So really, neither.

I honestly don't recall but I know I hated it those rare few times I had to be home by myself at night. I'd push my bed across the floor to block the door (which was a feat because I had a HUGE bed and it was seriously heavy) and sleep with my dad's 22 rifle on the bed next to me. Now that I'm an adult, I sleep with my own .40 Glock under my pillow.

24. What was the last thing that really made you laugh?
Something oOLadyLuckOo said last night. It made me laugh so hard I got tears in my eyes, but with her, that's an everyday thing!

I'm married, so no. My husband is perfect for me, thanks. ^_^

Neither. I don't care for swimming.

Window. I love staring out the window just after take off and just before landing.

Yes, if I'm going out of the house. I always wear my wedding ring and a ring my husband gave me for Valentines Day, usually with a random necklace and my watch. If I'm at home with no plans to leave, I don't wear any jewelry.

No? I'm married so if I do it's never intentional. (unless it's with my husband...then it's intentional) I am admittedly clueless to flirting on both sides. It has to be blatant for me to realize I'm being flirted with.

Cane's sauce! Well...if it's Raising Cane's chicken. If not, then honey, honey mustard or a mayo/ketchup mix.

Tahdig!! It's not burnt bitch, it's tahdig!!! Yay Persian food. ^^ My brother-in-law got me hooked on his cooking! Now his mother thinks it's hilarious when I get excited over tahdig. _{If I didn't think it would be rude I would bug her for it all the tiiiime.}

-.- No. I will gladly look to the nearest man for that one. They like being dirty.
